MONICA TORTI

Monica Torti was born in Morges (VD) and began playing classical guitar in 2015 after experimenting with various instruments. She obtained her guitar certificate from the Conservatoire de Lausanne in 2018 with honors from the Jury (under the guidance of Renaud Renquin).

She continued her studies at the Haute Ecole de Musique Valais - Wallis (HEMU) in George Vassilev's class, earning her Bachelor of Arts in 2022 along with the special excellence prize "Auditech." Currently, she is completing her Master's studies in instrumental pedagogy.

She has been a laureate in several national competitions (Riviera Competition, Swiss SJMW Competition, Sion International Guitar Days Competition) and international ones (Città di Barlettà, Seicorde Academy, International Alvaro Compagny Competition – 2nd place, Città di Padova – 2nd place). The album of Seicorde Academy laureates under Suonare Records will be released in September 2024.

Monica regularly performs as a soloist at various festivals such as Les Rencontres Guitares de Bulle, Weekend Musical de Pully, GuitarDays de Sion, International Guitar Festival de Nendaz, etc.

She is also a member of the Duo Akisson (classical guitar duo), engaging with Les Concerts du Cœur association since 2022.

Through her diverse projects, she explores other music styles such as jazz, flamenco, and contemporary music. She enjoys using a looper pedal on stage, enabling her to improvise and sing. Her varied musical background has led to her personal project "Identity - classical guitar and looper pedal," to be presented on the Master sur les Ondes show on RTS Espace 2 on February 23, 2024, and at a solo recital on July 19, 2024, at the Six Cordes au Fil de l'Allier festival in Chanteuges (F).

Monica occasionally participates in masterclasses across Europe with pedagogues and concert artists like Judicael Perroy, Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukic, Marco Tamayo, Thibaut Garcia, etc.

Additionally, she continues her teaching activities at the Conservatoire de l'Ouest Vaudois (COV) in Nyon.
